Over the past number of years, the Dominican government has been successfully working to expand the list of Dominica Visa-free countries.Roosevelt Skerrit, the Dominican Prime Minister, publicized efforts to agree on visa-free travel with the Republic of South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and China in 2018.Moreover, since early 2019, Dominican passport holders can enter Russia as tourists Visa-free for 90 days. And since the middle of May 2019, Dominican citizens can also travel to Ukraine without requiring a Visa. Visa-free travel between Dominica and the UAE came into force in late February 2020.On January 1, 2020 Uzbekistan introduced a visa-free agreement for citizens of the Commonwealth of Dominica visiting Uzbekistan for 30 days.As countries are continually negotiating travel agreements, the visa-free countries list for Dominica is evolving all the time. Eligibility
Section 101 of the Dominica Constitution and Section 8 and Amendment 20(1) of the Citizenship Act define the investor program in law, legally granting eligible persons instant citizenship in the country by a Certificate of Naturalization. The Dominica Citizenship by Investment Unit (CBIU), a recently established government authority within the Ministry of Finance,
enforces all regulations under the passport program and is the regulatory body that ensures only worthy applicants are accepted. In order to be considered eligible, the main applicant must be at least 18 years of age and must meet all the Dominica immigration requirements outlined below.
